I’ll be using the Expectancy Violation Theory in my project proposal. My communication act is my experience being in the UP clinic.
It happened late January 2009. I got a bad case of dysmenorrheal so rather than spending the whole day alone in my boarding house I decided to go to the clinic. That way I’m still look after.
After spending the whole day there, I noticed something in the way people were behaving around me. Other people were closer like my friends because they were worried about me. Then there was the nurse who kept a professional distance away from me, coming closer only when she needed to. There were also times when I felt comfortable with the closeness of some people, not sure if it was because of EVT or maybe it was just because I was feeling a little sick.
Either way, it was an interesting day and I'd like to use it for my coma101 project.
